Today, we continue our series entitled “Laser Focus,” with the point being that we should live with a Laser Focus on the Fixed Purpose God established for us before the world began.
This is the main scripture we will be looking at this year:

Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions.
Today, we will also look at:
(Ephesians 1:11 KJV)
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.
So, what does this mean to you today? A few things.
1. Cultivating the Mindset of Expecting and Receiving God’s Best.
— Accept that you are a beneficiary of God’s predestined plan. Romans 8:28 from the Amplified translation tells us that all things are working together for us according to God’s design and His purpose, which includes a plan for good!
— Inside God’s “plan for good” are blessings that come through sowing and others that are inherently ours through inheritance.
— Embrace a lifestyle of gratitude, recognizing both the seeds you sow and the inheritance you’ve received as manifestations of God’s love.
— Understand that living in God’s best requires a balance of active faith (sowing seeds) and passive trust (receiving inheritance) in God’s provision.
— Cultivate a heart of generosity, inspired by the understanding that you sow into the Kingdom not out of obligation but from the overflow of God’s supply. God will never run out, so you don’t ever have to worry when you know He is your source and He is leading you to give (time, talent, or treasure).
— Train yourself to see every situation through the lens of God’s promises, whether it’s a season of sowing or a time of inheriting/receiving.
— Foster an unwavering belief in your identity as God’s child, knowing that your actions and inheritance are both vital aspects of His plan (for good) for you.
— Prepare for God’s best by aligning your thoughts, words, and actions with His Word, thereby activating the principle of sowing and positioning yourself to receive both your harvest and your inheritance.
2. Navigating Life’s Seasons with Wisdom and Discernment.
— We live our lives out with God through a series of times, seasons, levels, and stages. God has a plan for our lives, but the plan manifests over time as we matriculate through levels and stages.
— Recognize the seasons of sowing and reaping in your life, understanding that both have their place and time according to God’s purpose.
— Seek God’s wisdom in discerning when to actively pursue through sowing and when to patiently wait for the harvest and inheritance to manifest.
— Learn from Joseph’s life. He went through various seasons before stepping into his divine inheritance, maintaining integrity and faithfulness throughout his journey.
— Use discernment to navigate challenges, knowing that some battles are for you to fight (sowing and standing in faith) and others for you to stand still and see God’s salvation (part of your inheritance).
— Stay rooted in God’s Word, allowing it to guide you through life’s seasons, whether you’re in a period of planting, waiting, or receiving.
— Celebrate every milestone, whether it’s a successful harvest from your sowing or a step closer to fully embracing your inheritance, as a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
3. Keep Your Heart Open to the Fullness of God’s Plan!
— Internalize the truth that your inheritance is a secured reality in Christ, emphasizing its unearned nature, reflecting the fullness of God’s grace and favor towards you.
— Practice living as an heir of the Kingdom daily, understanding that your inheritance transcends material blessings to include spiritual authority, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
— Share stories of how embracing your inheritance (walking in your identity) has changed your outlook on life, fostering a mindset of abundance and victory that is rooted in Christ’s finished work.
— Teach others about the richness of our inheritance in Christ, highlighting how it empowers us to overcome challenges and walk in God’s purposes with confidence.
— Actively claim the promises of God that are part of your inheritance, using them as a foundation for prayer and declarations over your life and the lives of others.
— Reflect on the ultimate expression of our inheritance—the eternal life with God, which shapes our present living with hope, purpose, and a forward-looking perspective.
My closing thoughts before I go on Spring Break:
A common mantra to hear from people in the world is: “Life is hard.” Life can indeed be difficult. It can be challenging for just about anyone. But when you add the reality that those of us who live by faith are called to attempt things that are beyond us, and the Holy Spirit leads us to pursue endeavors that, from a human point of view, we can’t do, if you don’t do it the right way (in faith) life can be even more challenging.
In the series, we will soon study the lives of Joseph, David, and Paul. We will see how all three men required a laser focus on their fixed purpose. God had a plan and a purpose for each, but without question, their lives were not easy. They accomplished what God called them to do and left a tremendous mark on this world, but it was only by the grace of God and their faith.
What I love about the life of faith is that if you meditate and medicate on the Word of God day and night, you open up your heart to God’s grace, and you muster up the faith and courage to attempt to become the man/woman you are called to be, you get to do so with an underlying strength and unyielding optimism. Once you know who you are, you know what God has called you to do, and you know His grace is on your life, then no matter how difficult things get, you are not moved. Why? Because you know you are walking with God, and He is walking with you! Therefore, you enter every day believing that you will experience God’s best. This is what it looks like to live by faith and to do so and be enveloped in the grace of God, walking under the canopy of kindness. This is what I call #TheGraceLife.
I’m going to take a few days off from Today’s Word and spend some time with my family and with God. I pray that you meditate on God’s goodness and grace while I’m gone. I’ll see you when I come back. I love you.
Declaration of Faith:
Father, I accept my role in Your predestined plan. I know it’s a good plan! I am grateful for the inheritance You’ve bestowed upon me.
I commit to a life of gratitude, recognizing both the seeds I sow and the rich inheritance You’ve given me as reflections of Your endless love.
I vow to balance active faith with steadfast trust in Your provisions, living generously out of the abundance of my inheritance.
I will see every life situation through Your promises, navigating both sowing seasons and times of receiving with Your wisdom.
Father, I affirm my identity as Your child, destined to receive Your best through both my actions and by virtue of who I am in You.
I vow to align my thoughts, words, and actions with Your Word, activating the principle of sowing while positioning myself to inherit Your promises.
Each day, I will step into the fullness of my inheritance, practicing stewardship over the gifts You’ve entrusted to me and living out Your purpose with confidence and joy.
GREATER IS COMING FOR ME because I am Your child, and I live to glorify Your name in this world! I declare this by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
